First thing you need to know is that you can paste any code to BS2 simply by pressing the CTRL+V keys.
This is a very quick way of trying a mod, or testing when making mod. You simply select any code you want to use, then copy it to the clipboard with CTRL+C. Then open BS2, start a sandbox, then and paste your code. That's all.
Please note that some mods don't make the element refresh, so if you want the new elements to appear, just click any part of the group or element menu, and any group that wasn't shown will appear.
Another way of copying a code is via the gear icon.
Paste Clipboard: Will paste what's in the clipboad, if it's a mod, it will load it.
Load Configfile: This is to load a mod within a file that is in .bs2 format.
Paste BS1 config: If your clipboard contain BS1 code, then paste your code using this.
Load BS1 configfile: This is to load a mod within a file for BS1 that is in .cfg format.
Reload elements.bs2: This will restore BS2 to its default state with starting elements Please note that it is not a perfect solution, as it only reloads the majority, but not all, of the default status.
Please check the method i use for my cannonball mod, and just change the name to add any other mod.
Cannonball Permanent Method

You can easily get a list of online mods that you can play directly in BS2. Just start BS2, and click on the “Mods” button. Then click on the mod you want to play and your ready to play.
